Lance Alworth is a former AFL / NFL wide receiver who played from 1962 and 1972 is generally considered to be one of greatest receivers in pro football history. Lance was a star at Arkansas in college and chose to play for the San Diego Chargers of the AFL. Nicknamed "Bambi" for his speed and grace, Lance was named the AFL Player of the Year in 1963, the same year he helped lead the Chargers to their only AFL Championship. Lance was a 7-time AFL All-Star and a 6-time All-AFL First Team selection. He was also named as one of the receivers on the All-Time AFL Team. Lance led the AFL in receiving, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns 3 separate seasons in each category. At the end of his career he spent two seasons with the Dallas Cowboys and he won a Super Bowl with the Cowboys during the 1971 season and he scored the first touchdown of the game against the Miami Dolphins. Many experts consider Lance to be the greatest wide receiver of the 1960's. He is a member of both the College and Pro Football Halls of Fame.
