Spiderman Comic Production Art, Color Guides, Web #59 Pg 4 1989 Dr Doom, Titania (Character in She-Hulk TV series). Beautiful panel for any fan of these characters!

Color guides are one of a kind items that were the final step in the creative process before comic book issues were sent to printers for production. They are scaled copies of the original ink art that was then hand colored and labeled by the issue’s colorist. As this stage of production now occurs digitally, these are showcase, frame quality artifacts of the artistry no longer used in the industry.

Although visually striking and an integral step of the process, at the time these were rarely seen as important enough to be kept and are now sought after collectibles highly suitable for framing and display.

These pages from Web Of Spiderman 59 (1989) were acquired personally from Marvel colorist Bob Sharen, the artist on this issue, shortly after production. Photos will show a signed copy of the issue for provenance ONLY, not included in sale price. The issue is from the beginning of the “cosmic Spidey” storyline when he is realizing what has happened to him and features appearances from Titania, Puma and Doctor Doom.
