Thom Wheeler is a Texas native who became one of Houston’s foremost contemporary sculptors, creating many large commissions for corporations and architects, commercial and public spaces such as hotel and bank lobbies. His materials are highly polished and textured metals such as brass, copper, and aluminum plate set with ivory, wood, cast glass, stag horn, and stone such as turquoise, malachite and jasper. Each piece is handmade and one-of-a-kind wall art.

This particular piece was bought original back in ‘04 from Thom Wheeler’s original shop in Texas. It features a stunning golden church, with a beautiful green stone as centerpiece, enveloped in a brass ring. One can interpret mountains in the background, as well as stars in the sky. Truly a one-of-a-kind piece by Wheeler.
