Frederick N. “Ted” Batten has an A.B. Degree from Glen-
ville State College, Glenville, West Virginia with postgraduate
work at Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana and Marshall
University, Huntington, West Virginia.
Ted is the Director of the Ripley “Viking” High School Band
and Glee Club. He has also been Director of Music, Howard
High School, Howard, Ohio and Edison High School, Edison,
Ohio.
Ted is an active member of the Epworth United Methodist
Church, Ripley, West Virginia where he has directed the Chancel
Choir for the past 6 years. He has also Directed the Chancel
Choirs of the First Methodist Church, Howard, Ohio and the
First Methodist Church, Edison, Ohio.
He is a native of Reedy, West Virginia and graduated from
Spencer High School, Spencer, West Virginia. He is married to
the former Ruby Wine of Spencer. They have three lively sons,
Rick, Rod and Ron.
