Jim Wubben of PB Choppers has been customizing bikes and cars since 1968. When his buddy
saw a Springer fron end for the first time in a magazine and just had to have one on his
Triumph, Jim gave him a hand, sawing the neck off the Triumph and machining a neck to fit
the Springer. The bike ran pretty good up to about 85-90 mph, when it would start wobbling
and freak the rider into slowing down. Back in those days, building bikes meant good friends,
great conversation, and plenty of beer. And not having a lot of money meant that anything Jim needed
he had to find in the junkyard. As long as a piece of metal looked kind of like what he had in mind, Jim
would grab it and fabricate whatever he needed.
Jim was a real outlaw-biker sort, running around and tearing it up, causing trouble until 1973, when
he found out he was going to be a dad. He figured if he was man enough to create a child, he better be
man enough to raise one. So Jim settled down and continued to fabricate stuff, mostly hot rods and mus-
cle cars. He always kept a bike, and it was always unique.
Fast forward a couple of decades, Jim never forced his son into riding; Shaun
found his own way. He had a couple of Japanese bikes and sold them, finally
saving enough money for a Harley. In 1999 Shaun decided to build his first bike,
and like his dad, had a knack for putting things together. He built the whole bike
himself, and completed four more right after the first. At Sturgis that summer,
father and son brought one of the bikes and realized that the public really liked
what they were building. Jim decided to get involved in December of that year.
and PB Choppers was bom.
If any motorcycle builder has a connection
to NASCAR, it's these guys. The father and son
team have spent most their lives following the
sport and are a veritable dictionary of all things
NASCAR. Jim in particular has a genuine love
and respect for the sport and the people
involved, not to mention he's a huge deep fan of
the Earnhardts, both Jr. and Sr..
PB Choppers have been extremely
involved in the sport over the years...

And much more!
