known for his Cocceian theology and Pietist sermons. One of his best works was
his philosophical commentaries on the Bible. This 1724 printing on the
commentary of the Book of the Gospel of John was published in Amsterdam by
Antonium Schoonenburg.

William Henry Green (January 27, 1824 – February 10, 1900), was an
American scholar of the Hebrew language. He was ordained in 1848 and was pastor
of the Central Presbyterian church of Philadelphia from 1849 to 1851. From
August 1851 until his death, he was professor of Biblical and Oriental
Literature in Princeton Theological Seminary, a role for which Green refused
the presidency of Princeton College in 1868.
