A rare, Benito Arias Montano was a 16th-century Spanish
reformer best known for his Polyglot Bible in which he was accused by the
Spanish Inquisition of altering the scriptural text from the original Hebrew. Most
of his books were written with association to his Polyglot Bible, and the best was
‘Antiquitatum judaicarum’ – a work of
commentaries on various books of the Bible with notes on important Old
Testament figures like Noah, Daniel, and Jeremiah.
