Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Thomas Cook' after 'William Hogarth'. Thomas Cook (1744-1818) worked as engraver and printer. He was noted for his engravings after Hogarth. William Hogarth (1697-1764) began his career as an ornament engraver. He later turned to portrait painting an genre subjects. Hogarth became famous with his satirical prints.
