This is a highly decorated 12 inch tall by 7 1/2" center diameter brass or
bronze Antique Tri-level Champleve Vase that is also decorated with a
unique pattern throughout plus a lion's head.  Champleve is a gouged
out or pitted design in the actual brass or bronze that is then painted and
baked with one or more layers of paint called cloisonne  It is the earliest
form of cloisonne as far as I can figure.  I tried to date this and it compares
to early 1800to1900 circa pieces and probably Chinese or early.
It is quite heavy and  has heavy brass rings attached to either side.  The
condition is excellent for the age and  there is a hole in the bottom
that allows for conversion to a lamp if desired.  There is a cork inside
to plug the hole if used as a vase, otherwise there are no dents or chips,
just normal cloisonne wear.    FREE SHIPPING
