BREXIT <=> PATTERN €uro's
After ten years of preparations, the euro was finally agreed on 1 January 1999.
For the first three years, it was still an "invisible" currency used exclusively for
accounting purposes and in electronic payments.
But on January 1, 2002, coins
and banknotes also started and the largest currency changeover in
history took place
in 12 EU countries.
The united Kingdom did not participate in this introduction,
like several countries,
but at the moment there are already 19 of the 27 EU countries that pay with this new
currency.
