Mo Xiong
Mo Xiong was born in Changzhou, Jiangsu in 1960, and his ancestral home is Shaoxing, Zhejiang. In 1986, he graduated from Nanjing University of the Arts with a bachelor's degree and stayed on to teach there. Now a member of China Artists Association. He is a master of Western painting with free and easy expressive landscape painting and still life painting. He is good at controlling his emotions in creation, and his image selection is careful. Whether it is landscapes, strange stones, gardens, flowers, porcelain vases, etc., all of his paintings show the combination of traditional Chinese painting symbols, forms, meanings and oil painting materials and tools. Interaction and conversion, thus interpreting a series of sad and beautiful pictures. He is one of the outstanding contemporary representatives who are good at casting Chinese spirit in western painting. In 2007, Premier Wen Jiabao added the finishing touch to his work "Golden Rooster". In 2008, Li Lanqing, the former vice premier of the State Council, composed music for his traditional Chinese painting "Sea of Flowers". He is one of the most potential painters in contemporary China.
