Growing seedlings
The seedless method is not entirely acceptable, since it gives weak germination. Therefore, it is better to prepare sprouts in indoor or greenhouse conditions, sowing seeds in a seedling box in the summer, so that in September they can be planted in the garden. And in the spring of next year, it will be possible to collect a plentiful harvest.
This work is preceded by seed preparation. They are soaked for 2 days, filled with water at 40-degree temperature. In the seedling box, you can thicken the planting, and then, when there are 2 normal leaves on the sprouts, thin out.
To grow seedlings, you will need 2 months, during which they take constant care of the sprouts:
make sure that the shoots have enough light;
you do not need to water often, so that the bulb grows, and not the feathers;
it is recommended to maintain a moderate temperature in the room and conduct frequent ventilation.
Further planting of seedlings in the beds requires compliance with the scheme: 20 cm –between the sprouts, 30 cm – between the rows. Seedlings are buried in moistened wells, while the ground is not crushed. When all the sprouts are planted, the bed is once again watered abundantly.

In the year of planting, you should not concentrate on watering – they should be rare, as necessary. This will allow the bushes to take root better. Starting from the second year, you will need at least 10 water treatments throughout the season. At the same time, each square meter of the plantation needs 30-50 liters of water at a time.
Please note! If you restrict the culture in moisture, the feathers will become rough and lose their juiciness.
How to harvest
What time is the crop cleaned? In food, the fragrant onion begins to be taken from the second season, making 3-4 calls. Take only feathers that have reached 25 cm in length. The first cut falls on the month of July, the last one should end 2 months before stable cold weather (somewhere in the middle of August).
After that, it is better not to touch the bushes, so that they have time to gain strength for winter quarters. Before the onion is covered, all the remaining leaves are completely cut off. Each pruning of leaves requires subsequent fertilizing with mineral water in alternation with organic matter.
