DESCRIPTION:
Antique hand painted longcase grandfather clock in Gustavian grey with ornate provincial painted floral dial .
The 18th century clock case with hand drawn glass door and side windows. The arch top with hinged door to access the clock handles.
Original arched glass windows on the side to view the clock mechanism in motion.
An arch top door below the clock to access the pendulum and two pine cone iron weights.
The clock mechanism housed in the top cabinet is a 19th century replacement whilst the painted long case is late 18th century . The clock has a dong chime rather than a bell and counts the hours. The chain mechanism is easy to use so no need to wind up. Just pull the chain down lifting the weight and the the clock is fully wound up for another day.
Two train movement with winding chain. 1st train : time keeping train. 2nd train:: clock chime train.
You can wind the time without having the chime if desired.
The door to the pendulum case with lock and steel key.
A round viewing window is inserted into the door with carved frame surround.

Any goods remaining after 30 days will be treated as uncollected and abandoned goods. The purchaser fully acknowledges this notice at the time of bidding and any deposits received are forfeited to the seller in order to recover any restocking fees and storage charges.
Abandoned goods may be disposed of by the seller in whatever manner is chosen. We are sorry to have to note this clause in our listing but are no longer able to store items indefinitely and for free.
