First and only edition. This is a continuation of Spinniker's 'Leerzaame Zinnebeelden.' (Haarlem, Isaac van der Vinne, 1714, and new-title editions of 1756 and 1757), which contained 50 emblems by Vincent van de Vinne. Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Vincent van der Vinne Jr.' after 'Adriaan Spinneker'. Most of the refined plates are by painter and etcher Vincent van der Vinne Jr (1686-1742), although J.C. Philips is given as the etcher of 4 plates in the second part of this book. The author of this work is Adriaan Spinniker (Groningen 1676-1754 Haarlem). He was a preacher with the doopsgezinde gemeente in Amsterdam. He is known for his poetry.

Subject: Antique print, titled: '30. Het Einde Goed alles Goed.' - ('All's well that ends well'). A coffin is carried into a house where mother and child are standing beside a bed on which a dead man lies. The argument is that glorious are those who die in the eyes of the Lord. They live on in the glory of the Lord.
Condition: Good, given age. Margins cropped close to the image edge. Top right corner of the image and margin stained. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
