This is an original press photo from the early 1960s of Joanna Shimkus (born 1943 Halifax, Nova Scotia) who began her career in French films.  She played the starring role in Tante Zita in 1968. In 1969 she starred with Sidney Poitier in The Lost Man. 1970 she starred in The Virgin and the Gypsy with Franco Nero and Honor Blackman. She married Sidney Poitier in 1976.
