BESCHREIBUNG:
Ein HP MicroServer Gen8 aus eigener Verwendung in optisch nahezu neuwertigen und technisch absolut einwandfreien Zustand.
Das Gerät war bei uns einige Jahre im Einsatz und hat ohne Ausfälle seinen Dienst sehr zuverlässig verrichtet. Der MicroServer wurde sehr gepflegt behandelt und so lassen sich keine nennenswerten Gebrauchsspuren auf diesem erkennen.
Ursprunglich wurden von uns vier 2 TB Western Digital RED NAS Festplatten verbaut, von diesen mussten in den letzten drei Jahren jedoch bereits drei Stück gegen neue Festplatten getauscht werden, wobei unsere Wahl dieses Mal auf die Seagate Ironwolf NAS Festplatten gefallen ist. Die Seagate Platten haben den positiven Nebeneffekt das diese deutlich ruhiger laufen, als die Western Digital RED. Ein natürlich Nebeneffekt der geringeren Umdrehungsgeschwindigkeit. Sehr angenehm, wenn der MicroServer eventuell neben einem im Büro stehen sollte.
Die Laufzeiten (Power-On-Hours) der einzelnen Festplatten werden in S.M.A.R.T. wie folgt ausgewiesen:
* Seagate Ironwolf NAS (Z52B9QP8): 4520 Stunden (~188 Tage)
* Seagate Ironwolf NAS (Z52B9S5C): 4523 Stunden (~189 Tage)
* Seagate Ironwolf NAS (Z52BK3PJ): 1122 Stunden (~47 Tage)
* Western Digital RED NAS (WD-WMC5C0D2EYNH): 47270 Stunden (~5,4 Jahre)
Auch wenn die Western Digital Festplatte bereits reichlich Laufzeit auf zu weisen hat, legen wir diese dennoch dem Paket bei, da sie bisher sehr zuverlässig ihren Dienst verrichtet hat.
Fehlermeldungen werden in S.M.A.R.T. bei keiner der Festplatten ausgewiesen.
Weiters wurde dem MicroServer eine original HPE 32 GB SD-Karte spendiert, auf der das Betriebssystem, in unserem Fall war dies FreeNAS, installiert werden kann. Derzeit befindet sich darauf kein System mehr, da dieses von uns gelöscht wurde.
Sämtliche Datenträger, Festplatten wie die SD-Karte, wurden mit dem Programm nwipe gelöscht und enthaltensomit keine Daten mehr.
Das Gerät wurde von uns komplett gereinigt, die Wärmeleitpaste unter den einzelnen Kühlkörpern auf dem Mainboard durch eine Arctic Silver MX4 ersetzt und danach umfangreich getestet und funktioniert absolut einwandfrei.
Zur Verwaltung bzw. Fernwartung des Microservers ist ein dedizierter iLO4 Port intergiert. Eine passende iLO Essentials Lizenz liegt dem Gerät bei und wurde vorinstalliert.

An HP MicroServer Gen8 from our own use in optically almost new and technically absolutely perfect condition.
We have been using the device for a number of years and it has done its job very reliably without any failures. The MicroServer was treated with great care and there are no significant signs of wear on it.
We originally installed four 2 TB Western Digital RED NAS hard drives, but three of these have had to be exchanged for new hard drives in the last three years, and this time we chose the Seagate Ironwolf NAS hard drives. The Seagate disks have the positive side effect that they run much quieter than the Western Digital RED. A natural side effect of the lower rotational speed. Very pleasant if the MicroServer should be standing next to you in the office.
The running times (power-on hours) of the individual hard disks are displayed in S.M.A.R.T. shown as follows:
* Seagate Ironwolf NAS (Z52B9QP8): 4520 hours (~188 days)

Even if the Western Digital hard drive already has plenty of runtime, we still include it in the package because it has done its job very reliably so far.
Error messages are displayed in S.M.A.R.T. not reported on any of the disks.
Furthermore, the MicroServer was given an original HPE 32 GB SD card on which the operating system, in our case it was FreeNAS, can be installed. There is currently no system on it since we deleted it.
All data storages, hard drives such as the SD card were erased with the nwipe program and therefore no longer contain any data.
We completely cleaned the device, replaced the thermal paste under the individual heat sinks on the mainboard with an Arctic Silver MX4 and then extensively tested it and it works absolutely flawlessly.
A dedicated iLO4 port is integrated for administration and remote maintenance of the microserver. A suitable iLO Essentials license is included with the device and has been preinstalled.
