To create the well-rounded flavour Glenmorangie 18-Year-Old Extremely Rare Malt spends fifteen years of its eighteen years maturing in American white oak casks. After fifteen years approximately 30% is transferred into Spanish Oloroso casks to mature for a further three years where both elements are finally blended back together to create a whisky with a rich bouquet and full, rounded flavour. The result is an aroma of rich flowery scents, honey and wood smoke with a finish of dried fruit and subtle nuttiness.
