Baren is a tool used when drawing woodblock prints [1]. Also referred to as Maren.
To improve slippage, use a twisted string made of bamboo skin as a core, and apply a large amount of paper to a lacquered round plate-shaped baren (baren). It is made by wrapping it in bamboo skin [1].
To make it slippery, camellia oil may be added to prevent the paper from being damaged. Some people rub it on their cheeks or head [citation needed].
By rubbing the spine of the paper against the woodblock, the ink and paint that have soaked into the woodblock will adhere to the paper and be rubbed.
The mainstream uage is to pass the index finger, middle finger, and ring finger through the grip part [2].
