'Recorded between 1964 and 1966, this is the first-ever collection of tracks by the quartet that would soon evolve into psychedelic heroes The Blossom Toes. Formed in London, they were managed by the legendary Giorgio Gomelsky (discoverer of The Rolling Stones and manager of The Yardbirds), and honed their live act in Paris, Spain, Morocco and elsewhere, issuing 45s in France and Italy but not at home. This comprehensive set collects all their studio recordings, as well as previously-unheard demos and a rare live cut that captures their exciting stage act. It comes complete with rare photos and detailed notes by guitarist Brian Godding, and is essential for all fans of 60s beat and psychedelia.'
'This talented but largly overlooked late sitxties outfit (Blossom Toes) centered on Brian Godding and Brian Belshaw, who'd met as apprentices at the Hilger and Watts scientific instrument factory at Highbury, Islington in 1962. They formed a group called The Grave Diggers and evolved into R&B outfit The Ingoes, who took their name from an obscure Chuck Berry number, Ingo. The Ingoes persuaded Yardbirds manager Giorgio Gomelsky to take them on, and he arranged for them to go to Paris. There they developed a strong cult following and, after a short interlude in London (where they recruited Jim Cregan, who had played in various R&B outfits) they returned for a second spell in Paris. At this time, The Ingoes recorded an EP for the Riviera label (cat no 231141) and a single version of Help, sung in Italian for the Italian market. Shortly after their return to London, drummer Colin Martin left to be replaced by Kevin Westlake, who'd been in Johnny B. Great and The Quotations (which included future Rockpile guitarist Billy Bremner). Around the same time The Ingoes signed to Gomelsky's fledling Marmalade imprint and adopted the suitably psychedelic moniker Blossom Toes.' - The Tapestry Of Delights
