Description: The publisher was a friend of Nollekens. State: Second state of 2 Ref: Whitman 405 Provenance: Paul Menso (Lugt 4347)

Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Charles Turner' after 'William Beechey'. Charles Turner (1773-1857) was an English mezzotint engraver and draughtsman. Through his mother's influence he had access to the famous gallery at Blenheim Palace. Turner moved to London in about 1789 and was apprenticed to the engraver John Jones. Sir William Beechey (1753-1839) worked as a portrait painter.

Condition: Good, given age. Ample margins, some foxing and soiling from handling. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
