GYM CLASSIC" is a pair of canvas sneakers with an authentic design, based on the training shoes produced in the 1960s, and reproduced in a modern style by reviewing the comfort and silhouette. By reproducing the simplified construction of those days as they were, the shoes have been made more durable. The vulcanizing method is a manufacturing process that can only be done in a few factories in Japan. The "MADE IN KURUME" tag engraved on the heel is proof that the shoes were made at a factory in Kurume City, Fukuoka Prefecture. Vulcanized manufacturing method
The vulcanizing method is a method of molding rubber soles and uppers by adding sulfur to raw rubber and causing it to react thermally. As a result of this reaction, the rubber gains elasticity and strength, making it suitable for sneaker soles. The strong bond between the sole and upper makes them durable, unbreakable, and difficult to lose their shape. On the other hand, it requires a lot of human labor and is less productive than other manufacturing methods, so it is often avoided by some people.
