Designed for Pacific Coast / Baja style long range Wahoo fishing. Any southward bound San Diego based long range fishing trip of 6 days or longer in the summer through winter months has the chance of encountering the highly prized, hard fighting and great eating Wahoo. Make sure you have at least a few Wahoo Bombs before heading out on any of these trips.

Standard method of fishing "Bombs" is on a 40-60lb rig with a fast retrieve reel and tightly set drag (ask the crew). Popular rigging can include either a wire or heavy fluorocarbon leader. While the boat is trolling for Wahoo, be ready for a jig strike. As the boat slides to a stop after a jig strike, cast the bomb out and let it sink a bit  - engage reel and wind FAST. When the bite happens - do not stop winding - keep winding right on through the bite all the way to gaff time. Cast and retrieve Wahoo bombs also while anchor or drift fishing for Wahoo. Good Luck!
