Akasa formed in 1989 and consisted of lead singer, Sophiya Haque (also a model and an actress), Belfast's John 'Jhalib' Millar who played percussion and tabla and Clem Alford who played the sitar, while Martyn Phillips produced.

Sophiya was in Coronation Street and made Bollywood movies but sadly died in early 2013 just a month after being diagnosed with cancer. John also passed away in 2017.

This 12 inch has three great mixes of their first (best?) single. The extended Triple B mix on the a-side is the band's own while Tim Simenon (Bomb The Bass) and Rok And Roj (possibly also Martyn Phillips) provide two very nice energetic and acidey mixes (mostly instrumental).

Sleeve is VG+. Have listed vinyl as VG+ but, actually, only the b-side has a couple of brief pops, the a-side is EX and sounds throughout record is nice and clean.

PLEASE NOTE: I do not "sight-test" records and list with comments like "vinyl looks to be in good condition". This is because a disc can look perfect but still have surface noise throughout (as I've found on too many occasions). All my records are played from start to finish on a fairly unforgiving Sansui deck fitted with an Ortofon cartridge and stylus.
