For sale is a pair of rare cowry shells from the estate of a military family that was on Kwajalein Atoll in the 1980s and early 90s. I will be selling several cowries from their collection. While I am a 22-year eBay seller, I am not an expert on shells, so some part of my shell identification may be mistaken, so please check the pictures closely to make your own assessment. Don't hesitate to ask further questions, and I certainly welcome input from knowledgeable buyers. I believe this to be the Brownie Snake Head Monetaria Caputserpentis Cowrie, and they are approximately 27mm and 31mm long. I have made no effort to clean or alter the condition of the shell. Given that the family lived on Kwajalein, I believe the shell to be reefed on the island. I have included a picture of calendars and directories from the family estate to verify their residence there. By the way, if you purchase the shell and would like me to ship one of the calendars or directories along with your purchase, please let me know, and I will include one. I have no information on when or where on the island the shell was discovered. These will be packaged in a sturdy shipping box with significant protective cushioning, and I have an outstanding record in shipping delicate, fragile collectibles.

Please ask questions before bidding so that I can insure you know exactly what you are bidding on.  Because I offer multiple pictures and detailed descriptions and prompt reply to questions, I do not offer a standing refund option.  However, if I made a mistake (I am human), or you have a concern, please contact me, and I will do everything reasonably possible to make it right, and my feedback reflects that.  I want both us to come out winners here.  You can expect the items I sell to be smoke-free, unless I specifically state otherwise.

At your request, I will be happy to create a combined shipping invoice on multiple purchases, subject to size/weight restrictions or any other eBay policy limitations. However, eBay's Global Shipping Program may limit combined shipping for international buyers. Also, I am not ever able to provide international returns. As of 2019, many U.S. states have begun to require that eBay sellers charge sales tax on purchases made from residents of their state. If your state requires a sales tax payment, that tax payment will show up on your invoice for final payment. I'm sorry about this added cost, but it is a requirement of your state and not a cent goes to me. Payment for purchases are expected within 3 days of auction end. Have fun.
