I was a batboy at the Cracker Jack/National Old-Timers Baseball Classic from 1985-1988. The first three years were at RFK Stadium in Washington, DC and my final year was at Pilot Field in Buffalo, NY. Joe D. was sitting alone in the restaurant of the Hyatt Regency in Buffalo, where I was staying, along with all of the players, when I approached him and asked him to sign this unused name tag.
There is no fading of the signature. He used a fine point blue Sharpie and I have stored this in a drawer for 30+ years. This is guaranteed to pass PSA/DNA certification. I say this with 100% confidence only because I was the one who obtained the autograph.
I spent all four years as a batboy for the National League but still made it a point to get all players signatures on various items each year. I've included a picture taken in 1986 of Dimaggio signing a baseball for me, which was published in the New York Times.
