Lovely miniature book published by the Press of Ward Schori [Evanston, IL], 1988. Bound by the Grummiches in gilt stamped marbled boards with leather spine and gilt ruling.  Limited to 153 copies. Signed and inscribed by Ward Schori on colophon page to former owner as follows, "Dr. Grossman - to an outstanding physician and a discriminating collector of miniature books. -Ward K. Schori." John Henry Grossman was a respected collector of magic apparatus and ephemera and miniature books - and a past member of the Miniature Book Society. Book shows no former owner marks and clean, white pages. Minor rubbing to corner tips of front and rear boards. Very good++ Illustrated.

Emma Lazarus was an author as well as an activist for Jewish and Georgist causes. She wrote a sonnet inspired by the Statue of Liberty, hence the photo and drawing of the statue in the book.
