It is inspired by the survival horror video game series Resident Evil, produced by Capcom, but it differs a lot. The film has four sequels: Resident Evil: Apocalypse, released on September 10 2004,Resident Evil: Extinction, released on October 12 2007,Resident Evil: Afterlife, released in Italian cinemas on September 10th 2010 And Resident Evil: Retribution, released on September 28 2012.
