Measurements (Inches):

Additional Information or Item Background/History:
This is a vintage 1940's Libbey Hostess Set from the Americana line called "Southern Hospitality" with its original box.  This particular glass was one of the earliest shapes of the Hostess Set collections distributed over the years.

From the1947 article explained by Virginia Scott in the 1970's.  The article was then posted by the National Depression Glass Association in 2008:

In 1942, Libbey began packing drinkware in attractive gift boxes labeled "Hostess Sets".  These sets began to appear in popular magazines in late 1945.  One of the earliest Hostess Set shapes (Americana) was advertised in a 1947 article stating the glasses were "designed by one of today's foremost designers" and the line "interprets early Americana Folklore".

This is a beautiful set of glass drinkware for the Libbey collector.

About the Inventory
My online store lists items that are mostly pre-owned. Pre-owned, handmade, vintage, and antique items may include usual wear such as scratches and some manufacturing/production defects. This type of wear will be made viewable within the listing photos.

All items are inspected carefully and stored in protective containers or shelving areas. The inventory is inspected prior to sourcing, listing, and at the time of shipping. Customers will be notified immediately if there are any defects that were missed and not found until the shipping process. If this occurs, I will contact you immediately and provide you with the option to continue through the sale, provide you with a discount, or provide you with a full refund within 24 hours of my notification to you through the messenger tool.

Listing Descriptions
A large quantity of time is spent researching items using books, online tools, and through field experts. Descriptions are made as accurate as possible. Some vintage and antique items are rare or hard to find and there may not be much information available. If you find that an item has been listed with information that may not be accurate, please feel free to contact me.

Listing Photos
The majority of photos within each listing are taken by me personally, unless specified within the item description.  Website stock photos may be used to provide examples of usage.  There are a variety of styles of photos that have been taken. I am continuously finding ways to improve the quality of photos for the best view or ideas for usage. As with many photos, colors may not be exact, but I try to ensure the lighting provides as true to color as possible.

Packaging
Recycled materials will be used to package items. Boxes may be new through USPS or if USPS does not offer a certain sized box to fit your item, a recycled box may be used. Some recycled boxes may be turned inside out. Recycled boxes may have been previously used for food, pets, and other items. At times, boxes may be reconstructed due to no availability of a certain sized box.

Recycled newspaper, tissue paper, paper towels, pieces of cardboard, packing peanuts or other Styrofoam packing materials, plastic air bag packing, plastic bags, paper bags, and other items may be used to package items.

Shipping/Delivery
I take great care in packaging each item. USPS Priority Mail or USPS First Class Mail is the source of shipping used due to the reliability, insurance, and tracking services offered.

Return of items are not accepted unless I have made an error within the purchase, packaging, shipping, and delivery process.
