This book belonged to Betty Grass who was an author in her own right. She was born Elizabeth Margaret Brass and married twice with surname Norton the first time and second time became a Stanger. She was known as Betty Grass though with correspondence addressed to her at two locations in quiet villages in North Yorkshire. I have two Salman Rushdie books and other books from her own library which may be of interest to certain collectors.

This is a vintage hardback book titled:
The Satanic Verses
by Salman Rushdie

Published by the Penguin Group, London in 1988.

Please see photographs provided for more details and visual confirmation of condition for yourself.
Normal signs of age and use wear, especially on the edges and corners.
The inside of the dustcover has some mucky marks and also  some foxing marks.

This book has her gold name sticker in the front page.

The pages are a little dusty on the edges where this has obviously been sat in storage for a number of years.
The inner flaps of the dustcover have been creased slightly where they've not been laying completely flat when the book was closed.

It measures approx. 9 and 1/2 inches x 6 and 1/2 inches with 546 numbered pages inside.

My stock ref : RB - Main bookshelf.

Most of my items are sent using the Global Shipping Program due to Royal Mail being really quite useless at actually delivering parcels worldwide for the last 8 months, which gave me and my customers a truly diabolical service of which I am still chasing up delayed post.

Global Shipping Program does not allow coins to be sent which is a little bizarre, is that because they do NOT trust their own delivery people to keep charge of the packages whilst on route ? So coins will be sent using Royal Mail.

To see ALL my other 6000+ items for sale: please click on the VISIT SHOP or click "see other items", strangely both only have a limited view of what I have to offer on each platform so to see everything click on Shop by Category which will give you a much better view.

Scale is usually an English 1 penny coin which is 20mm in diameter which is just short of 7/8ths of an inch in diameter, or a universal Coke can, and we all know how big those are.

If you see A/F = a/f in the title or description it means "as found" condition which may have scuffs, scratches and damage. In relation to all my listings it does not mean " about fine ". I have used A/F  for " as found " for 45 years.
