You are buying a remanufactured Soda syphon spares kit. This kit is designed to fit the later models of Mercuria Kovocas soda syphons marketed from the 1970's through to the 1980's. The syphon shown in the main picture is an example of this type and does not form a part of the sale; the sale consists of the head reconditioning kit shown in the pictures only.
This listing is for a revised design of head reconditioning kit suitable for the Mercuria Kovocas mesh covered glass bodied syphons and other vintage soda syphons of virtually identical look or design.
This part will fit:
Merkuria Kovocas silvery mesh covered glass syphons from the 1960's to 80's. Advice on how to identify whether your syphon is covered by this repair kit can be found in this YouTube video: https://youtu.be/58TxbtpWXi8. The video also shows you how to fit the parts within this kit to your syphon. In general, the later model MK syphons have a smooth chrome plated cap to the top of the black plastic head whereas the earlier version (which has a different design of valve internals inside) has an aluminium top cap with a milled edge to the cap (similar to the pattern found on the edge of some types of coin, such as the British 10 pence coin).
The kit includes the following parts:
Replacement seal for the CO2 capsule/canister socket (now in blue coloured rubber)
Replacement piercing pin to be used with the canister seal.
Spanner to help with disassembly and re-assembly of the head
Replacement O ring seal for the internal plunger (on the soda control valve assembly)
Replacement nose seal pad for the internal plunger (on the soda control valve assembly)
Replacement sleeve seal ( part of the carbon dioxide gas non-return valve)
Fitment of the kit assumes that some parts can be re-used:
The internal plunger piece
Plastic core for the CO2 non-return valve.
