1 of a number of items belonging to Squadron Leader Barbara D. Lee, M.B. Ch. B, M.R.C.S., L.R.C.P. who got the fabulous job of being a Chief Gold Staff Officer for Queen Elizabeth II's Coronation in 1953. She was stationed at H.Q. No. 22, RAF Market Drayton, Shropshire.
By 1959 Squadron Leader Barbara was married to Squadron Leader R.G. Wilberforce, DFC, AFC, MA, RAF retired.

See some other very interesting and unique items from B.D. Lee's estate which make very good reading and most interesting seldom seen 1953 Coronation related items for collectors of Queen Elizabeth II. Including her Gold Staff Officers baton which she had to buy herself from Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Company which cost £2-2 shillings. She was an usher and her duties were to seat guests, as well as be on hand if anyone wanted medical assistance.
Her own unique scrapbook which is full of official RAF letters, War Office, receipts, letters, tickets, luncheons, official engagements, and paperwork relating to her role at the 1953 Coronation. She was one of only 2 women Doctors from the RAF and Army at the Coronation and her actual ARMBAND she wore on the day is in the scrap book. Later photographs and various ephemera and paperwork. 3 portraits of her and her husband and last but not least her own official 1953 Coronation Stool she sat on during the Coronation.

WOW - if you are into Queen Elizabeth II collectables then you will not be disappointed with original Royal 1953 CORONATION stool which was sat on by the lady described above at Westminster Abbey.
Each person attending was allowed to take home their seat from the Coronation.

It is made from limed oak wood with a light blue velvet upholstered cushion with the gold braid. This stool also has a brown velvet like cover on top.

It is marked ER CORONATION on the underside of the stool with maker's mark Castle Bros. and dated 1953.

It comes with an elasticated brown velvet cover.

Please see photographs provided for more details and visual confirmation of condition.
The blue velvet does unfortunately have some stains and mucky marks.
No damage to the woodenware from what I can see but there are normal signs of age and use wear including some surface scuffs and minor impact marks.

The STOOL measures approx. 19 inches x 18 inches x 13 inches.

Be assured this is a Genuine Queen Elizabeth II Coronation stool of 1953.

I have been fortunate to own 3 of these now as well as some outstanding one off - unique British Royalty items along my 45 years of antique collecting, buying and selling.

Most of my items are sent using the Global Shipping Program due to Royal Mail being really quite useless at actually delivering parcels worldwide for the last 8 months, which gave me and my customers a truly diabolical service of which I am still chasing up delayed post.

Global Shipping Program does not allow coins to be sent which is a little bizarre, is that because they do NOT trust their own delivery people to keep charge of the packages whilst on route ? So coins will be sent using Royal Mail.

Scale is usually an English 1 penny coin which is 20mm in diameter which is just short of 7/8ths of an inch in diameter, or a universal Coke can, and we all know how big those are.

If you see A/F = a/f in the title or description it means "as found" condition which may have scuffs, scratches and damage. In relation to all my listings it does not mean " about fine ". I have used A/F  for " as found " for 45 years.
