Artists and Engravers: The author Hermann Schlegel (1804-1884) was a German Zoologist. He was working for the Rijksmuseum of Natural History in Leiden since 1825. Since 1828 he was the conservator. From 1860 until his death he was director. He mostly studied the animals of the Netherlands and its colonial possessions. The lithographs were made by P.W.M. Trap.

Subject: Plate 30: Heads and claws of different species of Birds: Anas (Eenden, etc.).
Condition: Very good. Light overall foxing. Paper strip attached to top of sheet from binding, not effecting image. General age-related toning and occasional light stains from handling. Please study image carefully.
