7 touching collectible plates from the Mother Goose series, drawn by John McClelland for Reco International.
In total, the series included 8 plates, there are 7 of them in our collection. One missing plate is easy to buy additionally. The series was produced from 1979 to 1986 and illustrated famous children's lullabies.
Each plate is 8 1/2" (21.5 cm) in diameter. All plates are in excellent condition, each with an authentic certificate and brochure. Usually plates are sold with original boxes, but our collection is sold with a special box - Storage System by Van Hygan & Smythe for 8 plates (one box is empty).

The price is not final. We are always ready to consider reasonable offers.

A bit of information. The name "Mother Goose" is apparently derived from the title of Charles Perrault's Contes de ma Mere l'Oye ("tales of my Mother Goose"), published in 1697. In French the expression approximates "old wives tales". Mother Gosse's Melody, a collection of lullabies and songs, was first published in England in 1781 (possibly a decade or more earlier), and was followed by an American reprint in 1785. All subsequent "authentic" Mother Goose collections are based on Mother Goose's Melody.

We try to describe as accurately as possible the main defects, imperfections or signs of aging in our products. But most vintage items show signs of wear and tear that don't matter to one buyer but may be important to another. If you want to get some clarifications, we will be happy to answer you. If necessary, we can take additional photos of the details.
