The Indian Dhokra craft is one of the earliest known methods of non-ferrous metal casting dating back 4000 years. It is practiced by the Dhokra community and is known for its strength, shapeliness, and exclusive folk characters. The process involves modeling each piece in wax over a clay mold, after which another layer of clay is added over the wax & then the wax in between is melted using molten metal. Dhokra is a metal-casted art that uses the ancient lost wax casting technique.
