A complete set of first edition early impressions of JRR Tolkien’s ‘Lord of the Rings’ trilogy, in excellent condition complete with maps and original unclipped dust wrappers. Publisher: George Allen and Unwin. Fellowship of the Ring: Eleventh impression 1961.The Two Towers: Eighth Impression 1961.The Return of the King: Seventh Impression 1961. Each volume contains a folded map of Middle Earth. There are no inscriptions or names. Each volume was formerly protected with a loose plastic sheet; this has retained the unclipped dust wrappers in excellent condition, although the tape used to secure the plastic cover has left a small mark on the opposing front and back pages. There are a few discolouration marks on the spine of The Fellowship of the Ring. In all other respects, it seems unlikely that a better set of these vintage books could be found. (See pictures, which are of the actual book and form part of the description).
