2 Vintage Nursery Rhymes Die-Cut Hand Painted Wooden Wall Plaques Mint In Box. Each measures 7 5/8" x 9 5/8" - one is rectangle and one is oval. These came from the very old inventory of a closed news & greeting cards store. My guess is these were made by Rust Craft, Gibson or Hallmark. Both come in the original boxes. Both are in near mint condition never displayed - see photos. I guarantee these are 60 to 80 years old. Includes:

There was a little girl
BY HENRY WADSWORTH LONGFELLOW
There was a little girl,
            Who had a little curl,
Right in the middle of her forehead.
            When she was good,
            She was very good indeed,
But when she was bad she was horrid.

"Jack Be Nimble" is an English language nursery rhyme.
Jack be nimble,
Jack be quick,
Jack jump over
The candlestick
Jack is a dog, in Denslow's version
The rhyme is first recorded in a manuscript of around 1815 A.D. and was collected by James Orchard Halliwell in the mid-nineteenth century. Jumping candlesticks was a form of fortune telling and a sport. Good luck was said to be signalled by clearing a candle without extinguishing the flame.
