You Are purchasing a LOTx3 of the Adjustable "Identifier".

Adjustable Identifier - 8-Tone AND a speed control adjustment.

The "Identifier" is the first sound device that was mass produced by E.E.S.  The name is not intended to identify the owner as a Redneck.  The name was chosen  to give Fred The Redneck design credit for this CB noise toy.

Always searching for a good sounding noise toy for CB use was almost a fever. Circuit after circuit was bread-boarded,  trying to achieve a distinct sound, as was the Tweety-Bird Whistle, Adjustable Roger-Beep and others.  I first heard the sound on the new "COPS" program series that was on the TV at the time of design.  I think it was a series involving the L.A.P.D..

I started research.  The communications equipment and radio units for that technology were the latest in vehicle tracking and identification.  I loved the sound, and each one sounded different..  I finally hit the right combination of bread-boarding after about 6 months.  The Identifier for CB use was born.

Production of the original designed has become impossible in mass due to obsolete parts being needed for their construction.

Due to the IC NE566CN being classified as an “Obsolete” device, what “Identifier” sounds I have posted for sale on our site might be near the last of its kind.  I cannot make these devices within a price range that is economical in price while this IC is being price gouged by surplus suppliers and warehouses that gobble them up in mass.

We introduce the first Adjustable version of this great sounding CB Noise Toy....

Look at our other items to find the identifiers which have been "TUNED" to imitate other digital sounds like: COO-COO Identifier; Adams Family Identifier, Up-Tone Sequence Identifier, Down-Tone Sequence Identifier, Dum-dee-lee Dum-Dum (Some will Dum-Dum back!)

and a couple more that have  only been bread-boarded.

 "No Two Are Alike"....  !!!

You can set this Adjustable Identifier to sound the way you like for it to sound and it has all eight (8) of the pulses available for tuning. The numbers are also etched into the PCB.  A picture of the number sequence is posted in the Photos Section of this post.

I have now made the timing on the Adjustable Identifier also adjustable and that really brings on another world of sequenced tones. High & Fast or Low & Slow. !!

Just a little warning that the Original Redneck Identifier basis is  DOOMED

The IC NE566CN - Voltage Controlled Oscillator] which is the heart of the Identifier was officially declared "Obsolete" and no one is making a replacement for it.  Due to this declaration by the main producers of the Integrated Circuit; all in stock IC's were bought up for gouging by surplus warehouses.

The IC, when it was an active part would sell at $1.59 to $2.50, depending on how many was bought at one time.  Now; the cheapest I have found the IC anywhere on the Internet is an average of $11.00 EACH ..... .... ... .. .

EES can still make a few of the Original Identifiers, Get these as soon as possible while the price is still low ! ! Most of the NE566cn are going in the new models  But once these parts are gone from my present supply, Pre-Paid Special Order at a cost of around $60.00 to $70.00 each might not be too unusual.  But I will always try to sell at the lowest price possible....  !.

I have decided that I will not build any more if it means that I have to buy one at a price like.

The Original Identifier has 96 holes.  The Adjustable  ... .. . I don't know; that you can do if you have one in you hands.  When my 25 ICs LM566/NE566/SE566 are  gone you can count the holes if you got lucky they were not  sold out. I would not hesitate too long.
