1732 Italian Architecture Bologna Italy Bibiena ART Perspective Colorno Parma

Ferdinando Galli Bibiena was a 17th-century Italian architect and artist who was known for his designs of the garden and villa of Colorno in Parma. However, in addition to his painting and architectural projects, Bibiena published an instructional guide for architecture students at the Clementine Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna. “Direzioni della prospettiva teorica” is notable, not just for its instructional essays, but for the dozens of folding engravings illustrating perspective, cathedral designs, mechanics, and much more.
