With a purpose primarily educational, the Edison Institute Museum at Dearborn, Michigan, was founded by Mr Henry Ford as a living textbook of human and technical progress.
The central group of buildings are architectural replicas of Independence Hall, Congress Hall, and the old City Hall of Philadelphia visitors enter the museum through the door of the central unit and find here the corner stone which was dedicated by Mr Thomas A. Edison on September 27, 1928. when he inscribed his name, marked his footprints and thrust into the wet concrete the shovel of Luther Burbank.
