The handle has an Adams or neoclassical style shield or escutcheon, with the other end attached to a fairly wide strainer.  Opposite the handle, a down turned catch or lip prevents the strainer from slipping off the cup while tea is being poured.

The handle is stamped with the Lunt hallmarks and sterling on the back.
