Comic Book Grading Scale

·         Gem Mint (GM) – This is the highest grade that can be assigned to a comic. The comic shows no signs of any manufacturing or handling defects.

·         Mint (M) – Comic is nearly indistinguishable from Gem Mint but will have very minor manufacturing defect.  It will not show signs of any other defects.

·         Near Mint/Mint (NM/M) Nearly perfect comic with negligible manufacturing and handling defects.

·         Near Mint + (NM+)A very well-preserved comic with several minor manufacturing or handling defects.

·         Near Mint (NM) – A very well-preserved comic with small manufacturing or handling defects.

·         Very Fine + (VF+) An attractive comic with moderate defect or a few small defects.

·         Very Fine (VF) – An attractive comic with a moderate defect or an accumulation of small defects.

·         Fine + (FN+)An above-average comic with a major defect and some smaller defects, or a significant accumulation of small defects.

·         Fine (FN) – A slightly above-average comic with a major defect and some smaller defects, or a significant accumulation of small defects.

·         Very Good + (VG+) – A slightly below-average comic with multiple moderate defects.

·         Very Good (VG) – A below-average comic with multiple moderate defects.

·         Good/Very Good (G/VG) – A comic that shows significant evidence of handling with several moderate to major defects.

·         Good (G) – A comic that shows extensive evidence of handling with numerous moderate to major defects.

·         Fair (F) – A very poorly handled comic with a heavy accumulation of defects, and damage.

·         Poor (P) – A heavily defaced  comic with number of major defects, some pieces of the comic will also be missing.
