SWASTIKAS OVER POLAND

These stamps were issued in 1944 to celebrate 5 "glorious" years of Nazi rule in Poland which represented 5 long years of suffering for the native population, especially its Jewish inhabitants, most of whom perished.

Each stamp depicts one of 5 district headquarters of the Generalgouvernement (Nazi Administration) - Lublin, Radom, Krakau (Krakow), Lemberg (Lviv) and Warschau (Warsaw). A white 3-D (raised) urn-shaped shield with a ghostly embossed Swastika is superimposed over the center.

These stamps have the additional feature of a second Swastika in the attached top panel. Only one stamp per entire sheet of stamps had this feature which makes it very very rare. An offering of all five district stamps in perfect MNH (Mint Never Hinged) with the attached Swastika is very infrequent so this may be your only chance to get all of them in one place.
