1611 Saint Gregory Nazianzus
Constantinople Byzantine Greek Orthodox Bible Folio
Saint Gregory of Nazianus was a 4th-century Archbishop of
Constantinople and is considered the most recognized rhetorician of the early
Church Fathers. His most important written works and letters were in defense of
the Trinity and the characteristics of the Holy Spirit – differentiating it
from both God the Father and God the Son. His defense of Christianity helped
align many of the doctrines that are still recognized by the church today –
including that Jesus retained being God when he became a man. He was one of the most important men of
letters during the early church and composed theological poems and verses in
addition to his Christian doctrinal letters.
This 1611 edition was published in Lutetiae Parisiorum by Morellum. An
impressive, beautiful volume.
