Tagua necklaces are " Greenproduct", made from seeds of a Tagua palm tree that grows in the Amazon Rainforest of Ecuador.

Every 7 years female tagua tree produces seeds, which are dried and heavy husk covering the seeds is removed. The natural color of the seeds is creme. Tagua is considered vegetable ivory.

The nuts are sliced into various shapes, dyed with organic dyes, holes are drilled in each piece and artisan jewelers buy tagua chips in various colors to assemble them into jewelry.  I have a lot of designs, made by 6 artisan families, please see them all.

Please support Fair Trade artisans! Your purchase allows us to put new orders with their families. Thank you!
