This Carambola variety was hybridized by Morris Arkin, a Washington, D.C. native stockbroker who retired into the fruitful world of horticulture.
Compared to other Carambola fruit trees, this star fruit variety is praised for being easy to grow, and producing tasty, abundant crops. Some gardeners prefer to use extra soil nutrients that make fruit sweeter when it’s time to harvest them.
Carambola produces prolific and gorgeous, pink, purple, and white flowers. These flowers stem off of woody branches, and bear a lot of fruit in the summer and fall. The bright yellow fruit is naturally waxy and each fruit is about 4-6" long. The flavor is similar to a sweet-tart blend of green apple, pear, grape, and citrus.
You are bidding on live grafted star fruit tree about two feet tall from ground.
