Fire King Stacking Mug Jade-ite Hidehira Ivory Lacquer

The new "Granite" is a new lacquer-painted Fire-King product that brings to life the traditional techniques of Hidehira-nuri, a traditional craft of Iwate Prefecture.

This Jedi-colored stacking mug has a pattern drawn by skipping another color of lacquer on the carefully lacquered surface.

The design was inspired by the "Granite" series of vintage Fire-King products made in the U.S.A., which was developed mainly in the 1960s.

The "Granite" Fire-King, which means "granite" with a characteristic mottled pattern, is still a popular vintage tableware product with a design that looks like ink splashed on it.

This time, the "Granite" design is carefully lacquered one by one using two colors of lacquer, navy blue and white (ivory), by the hand of craftsmen of Shuho-nuri.

The warmth of this lacquered mug is a result of traditional techniques. 

It is recommended as a gift for a loved one.
