This is an antique straw work basket that has been intricately dyed and hand woven.
This was probably made by a POW Prisoner of War during the Napoleonic War c1800. The basket has been woven with panels on the inside and outside with mirrors, pin cushions, and scraps depicting men from different cultures in traditional / military dress.
The basket's base shows that the straw was once dyed bright colours including purple, orange, and green but the upper parts are almost completely faded.

Please see photographs provided for more details and visual confirmation of condition for yourself.
As mentioned, the upper parts are faded. The pin cushion areas are worn.
It's in mostly good structural condition with no loose areas from what I can see.
Looks like it's squashed out of shape slightly.

It measures approx. 7 inches tall x 16 and 1/2 inches x 13 and 1/2 inches.

A very rare item in this condition. You hardly see this sort of item outside of a museum these days and to find one this large is rare as well.

Most of my items are sent using the Global Shipping Program due to Royal Mail being really quite useless at actually delivering parcels worldwide for the last 9 months, which gave me and my customers a truly diabolical service of which I am still chasing up delayed post.

Global Shipping Program does not allow coins to be sent which is a little bizarre, is that because they do NOT trust their own delivery people to keep charge of the packages whilst on route ? So coins will be sent using Royal Mail.

Scale is usually an English 1 penny coin which is 20mm in diameter which is just short of 7/8ths of an inch in diameter, or a universal Coke can, and we all know how big those are.

If you see A/F = a/f in the title or description it means "as found" condition which may have scuffs, scratches and damage. In relation to all my listings it does not mean " about fine ". I have used A/F  for " as found " for 45 years.
