Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Pierre-Gabriel Berthault' after 'Prieur'. Pierre-Gabriel Berthault (1748-1819) was a French engraver born in Saint-Maur. He was active in Rome under the protection of Count Tesse, where he worked with Saint-Non. At the age of 69 he was confined by Napoleon the direction over the enormous work on Egypt.
