Grade

Description

Fair (FR)

1.0/10. Creases, tears, ripes, folds, color breaks, soiling/staining, heavy spine damage, perhaps water damage and staining. Cover still technically attached. The lowest quality that you could fully read.

Good (GD)

2.0/10. Well worn, with an unfavourable cover, but superior to a Fair grade. Spine may have damage, but the book overall still has integrity.

Very Good (VG)

4.0/10. Obviously read, but cared for. Some creases and bends with some color break, only minor soiling/staining. Book still has some firmness and reflectivity.

Fine (FN)

6.0/10. Well taken care of. Book has been read so the spine has creases, and there's minor wear on the cover. No soiling/staining/tears tolerated. Only minor blunting on spine corners, edge wear, and minor spine scuffing tolerated.

Very Fine (VF)

8.0/10. Book has been read, but is undamaged. Only slight signs of wear detected upon close inspection tolerated.

Mint (MN)

9.0/10. Appears unread. Book should only have minor imperfections caused by production and/or handling at point of sale.

Gem (Gem)

10/10. A perfect book.

Note: This is not a formal grading system. It is roughly based on the Overstreet grading guide for comic books. A plus (+) or minus (-) may also be used in grading to indicate a single step move upwards or downwards from the stated grade. For example, an FN- tends towards a VG, while a VG+ tends towards a FN. Finally, a combined grade, such as VG/FN, means the grade is midway between those grades. So an FN- grades better than a VG/FN, but a VG/FN grades better than a VG+.

*** SHIPPING / COMBINED SHIPPING / REQUESTING AN INVOICE / LOCAL PICKUP ***

All pulps are shipped in plastic, taped to and sandwiched between cardboard, and packed inside an envelope. Larger orders are boxed and protected by packing materials. Backing boards are not provided for pulps except for books of higher value.

Shipping is calculated by eBay. After the initial big bump of about $15-$20 CAD for the first book, shipping costs per book drop dramatically. When submitting your order, request an invoice (see below) to get a shipping quote. Only pay once you have received the invoice.

To request an invoice, enter your shopping cart, and click on the "Request Total" link in the upper right of your cart (to the left of the "Go To Checkout" button). On the next screen entitled "Request Total From Seller",  in the "Add a message to seller" box, indicate that you want a combined shipping invoice, and then click on the "Commit to Buy and Submit" button. An invoice cannot be sent without you doing this.

The eBay smartphone application does not appear to allow a Request Total. If you can't use a browser to place an order, send me a message requesting a shipping quote.

An invoice will be sent by email within two days, usually much sooner.

Local Pickup is possible but enquire before you buy. If agreed, request an invoice, and we will waive shipping costs.

WE DO NOT COMBINE SEPARATE ORDERS UNLESS TOLD TO DO SO!

If you make separate orders in the same day and want them combined, quickly send us a message. You must make the request for us to do so. We will never combine separate orders unless advised to do so. If you take too long to advise us, an order may have been already shipped.

Note: Economy Shipping (Canada Post Lettermail) does not come with a tracking number.
