Live streaming in H.264, HD quality
Using the latest compression method, H.264+AAC, live video can be delivered at a maximum resolution of 720p (1280 * 720) at a maximum of 10Mbps. Any image quality higher than this is unrealistic for online live streaming. This is because the viewer's PC and Internet environment will not be able to keep up. LiveShell PRO can deliver high quality video at the limit of practicality. 3 profiles of H.264 (High, Main, Baseline) can be selected.
HDMI connection for full digital and high quality images
The HDMI input allows H.264 compression of the digital video signal output from the camera in its digital form. This delivers overwhelmingly high image quality.
Easy touch operation from PC or smartphone
A dedicated control screen called "Dashboard" is provided to operate LiveShell. All operations, such as volume adjustment and picture quality change, can be performed from a PC or smartphone. The large screen is easy to understand and intuitive to touch. Moreover, since it can be used only with a browser and does not require the installation of a dedicated application, operation can be continued immediately with an alternative device even if the PC malfunctions. This is another professional specification. Remote operation is performed via the Internet, so as long as you have your smartphone with you, you can leave the distribution site at any time.
Fine adjustment of picture quality according to line conditions
The basic mode is the easy-to-use fully automatic mode, but professional-grade fine picture quality adjustment functions are also available. Two types of semi-automatic modes are available: a frame rate variable mode in which the frame rate is automatically adjusted up or down within a specified maximum bit rate according to line conditions, and a picture quality variable mode in which the compression ratio is automatically adjusted up or down. The frame rate and compression ratio can also be set manually.
Crop function for your preferred aspect ratio
The special aspect ratio distribution has some enthusiasts. You can choose to deliver images in landscape resolution for a movie theater screen look, or in square for an old photo look. Of course, a regular 4:3 or 16:9 camera can be used, and LiveShell PRO's Dashboard can be configured to crop a portion of the input video for delivery.
Message Insertion Function
A message (subtitle) insertion function that can be easily operated from a smartphone or PC is available. By simply entering text and specifying the background and text colors, you can insert a message anywhere on the screen. You can also prepare a logo or other image file in advance and insert it during transmission. Moreover, insertion can be performed from a remote location.
Various Input Terminals and Monitor OUT Function
Supports the latest camcorders equipped with HDMI terminals as well as composite input (yellow terminal). Three audio inputs are provided: a stereo microphone IN jack with bias current that accepts a PC condenser microphone, a line IN jack that accepts a line-level input, and an audio input from a microphone attached to the camera via HDMI.
Built-in mixer function
All three audio inputs can be individually controlled for volume and mute from the Dashboard, and are mixed and distributed within LiveShell PRO, making it possible to perform simple mixing operations such as adding a voice to a microphone while playing background music.
Monitor OUT and peak meter for reliable delivery
The monitor OUT jack has been requested by many users of our previous products. If you have a breakout cable (sold separately) dedicated for the monitor OUT terminal, you can check the audio input level by displaying the video and audio on a TV or other device. If a TV for monitoring is not available, a peak meter can be displayed on the main unit's LCD display. LiveShell PRO is all you need for minimum audio input checks.
Supports many distribution services and can also distribute to its own server.
LiveShell PRO supports Ustream, YouTube Live, Nico Nico Live, brightcove, Jstream, Akamai, Limelight, etc. When using Ustream, recording can be turned on and off on the server side during distribution. It is also possible to distribute to your own server. In this case, please prepare a server that supports RTMP distribution. Operation has been confirmed with the latest FMS 4.5, Wowza 3.5, and Red5 1.0RC2 servers.
Replaceable rechargeable batteries
A replaceable rechargeable battery was a necessary component of the professional distribution equipment. If the AC adapter is ever disconnected, the system automatically switches to battery operation. A single battery provides 3 hours of live streaming, but the replaceable battery allows for long outdoor streaming without worry. The battery can also be recharged by itself using the optional battery charger. When used in combination with a spare battery, the system can continue to transmit for many hours.
Connect the AC adapter to start automatic distribution
You can set LiveShell PRO to start streaming automatically when the AC adapter is connected to LiveShell PRO while the power is off. It is difficult for a person to always keep an eye on the distribution equipment in ultra-long time distribution such as fixed-point cameras. Even if the electricity is cut off due to a power outage or electrical inspection, the distribution will automatically resume once the power supply is restored. No other feature is as important in a store or facility installation.
Automatic reconnection and redistribution when the network is disconnected
It is common for professionals to mount the system in a car and continue to distribute. In such cases, the connection may be interrupted in mountainous areas or when entering tunnels. LiveShell PRO can handle this, and will keep reconnecting for as long as the connection is down, whether it is 10 minutes or 30 minutes. Once the connection is restored, the streaming resumes. This feature is the result of continuous consideration of how to achieve stable transmission without human intervention.
The HDMI terminal does not have an anti-disconnection device, and there are many cases where the terminal is disconnected. Therefore, LiveShell PRO has a screw hole to allow the use of an HDMI cable with a screw to prevent disconnection. This is a small detail to prevent any trouble.
Key lock function Once distribution has started, the function of the buttons on the main unit can be disabled to prevent accidental operation. Even if the buttons on the main unit are disabled, all operations can be performed from the Dashboard. This is a small but important feature that only Cerevo, a company that has been distributing its equipment in confined spaces such as the cockpit of a racing car, could come up with. The key lock can also be turned on and off from the Dashboard, so there is no need to worry even if you forget to set the key lock.
